Firefighters Deserve The Recognition Of Firemen T-Shirts

By Alan Mills

Ever since 9-11, firefighters have started to be seen as more than just a service that people don't think about until they need them. The tragedy of September 11, 2001 showcased the selflessness these men exhibit when it comes to saving lives. You may say that these were New Yorkers, but any fireman in the country would have exhibited the same level of intense bravery if confronted by similar circumstances. There are firemen who give their lives every day in America and who deserve just as much recognition, and firemen t-shirts are the way to give them that recognition.

The hours that firefighters spend away from home can cause as much pain as a burn to these brave souls. Most of them have a family away from their job, and these families are in danger of being lost to them because of the rigorous demands of their job. Wives need husbands and fathers need their children. Letting these men know they are appreciated by their families with the simple gift of firefighter t-shirts could be enough to let them know they are truly loved.

Fire is a deadly enemy, and even though it doesn't have an intellect it can still outmaneuver and kill the most cautious fireman in the world. Fire is chaotic and unpredictable. It can cut a man off from escape as he searches for survivors. Everyone has an innate fear of fire, dating back to our ancient ancestors. This is such a powerful fear, that many people who sign on to become firemen never overcome it and wash out of the program before they ever can really begin. For those who persevere, they deserve the honor of firemen t-shirts.

Firefighters see things during their careers that tear at the soul like a jagged knife. Dead and dying children, terrified women, and the ruination of lives is something that a fireman witnesses every month, or even every week. Hearts break when they see these terrible things, because a fireman would not do this type of work if they weren't a compassionate person. All it takes to soothe the interior wounds these people feel is an ear to listen and a token of appreciation like firefighter t-shirts can impart.

After thinking about all of the awful things a fireman must endure to follow his heart and do what he feels he should, you would think that there would be a huge shortage of firemen in America. People keep coming, fully knowing the risk yet still filling the positions that need manning. We owe these people our thanks. When we see them on the street wearing fireman t-shirts, we should take a mere minute of our time to thank them for their service.
