Recent Developments And Discoveries In Cycling

By Carl Jenkins

The evolution of cycling has spanned a number of centuries resulting in what we have today. From wooden frames to the high tech racing bikes that currently fill the streets, it is indeed a revolution. All this can be attributed to consumer awareness of the numerous advantages of using a bicycle.

The amazing thing about cycling is that you will benefit from a boost in stamina. For most people, this occurs even without their knowledge as all this happens while one is enjoying the fun activity. It is not surprising that you are likely to ride more than you could in the first few days.

Riding a bicycle is like a full body exercise since many parts of the body move simultaneously. The overall effect is an increase in general strength. This is one of those activities that can be compared to swimming, which is very beneficial.

Cycling can also be a pass time activity especially when you want to unwind from the daily stresses of life. This means that you can take a ride and enjoy the peaceful and serene natural environment. There is also a reduced risk for coronary heart disease since it gives a workout for your lungs, heart and blood vessels.

Cyclists benefit from enhanced body coordination since the eyes, hands and feet work together in unison when one is on the road. Breathing is also improved as one cycles more often. Within no time, you will be able to ride for longer than you used to at the beginning.

Besides greasing and general maintenance, using a bicycle is a low budget activity. However, if you are planning to turn professional or to go for winter cycling there is a need to invest a bit more in accessories as well as items such as Enve wheels. Another point to note is that bicycles do not release pollutants into the environment.

If one is always worried about parking space, a bicycle is probably the perfect remedy. Since very little space is required to park your bicycle it is the perfect bet especially if you are headed to a nearby crowded location. If you are in a town with plenty of cars, the bike will probably be as fast as a car through traffic.

All you need to do is an occasional check on the chain or perhaps change the bike wheels once they are worn out. Everything else is much easier than using a car or motorcycle. There is also no need for fuel as all you need is to use up some of your body energy to your own benefit.

On the other hand, cycling may require one to take a few precautions. A number of cities have no provisions for cyclists in terms of dedicated paths therefore you will need to be extra careful especially when riding on the main roads. It has been established that motorists generally disregard cyclists in traffic.

In addition, bicycles have no roofs thus exposing one to the harsh weather conditions. All in all, cycling is a great experience as it is both fun and beneficial to the body. The pros far outweigh the cons.
