Old-fashioned Network Marketing versus Network Marketing Internet Business Today

By Jeromy Michaels

If you're aware of one of the longest established MLM businesses called Mary Kay, back when that company started there wasn't any Internet, everything was conducted on a face-to-face basis. Distributors would ask folks into their homes, hold makeup demonstrations, most likely have 1 or 2 glasses of wine making the entire process an especially social and private affair.

Network marketing Internet business appears to be a slightly impersonal process, but this is where most new network marketers are hanging out. Folk fail at Internet network marketing, because they don't understand that old idea of private service. It's superb that many millions of people can be reached via the Internet, where off-line network marketing was extremely limited, but wretchedly few new Internet promoters understand the concept of old-fashioned belly to belly marketing. They have never been in a face to face sales situation and accordingly they have no clue what the term "attraction marketing" means.

It is not frightful, it's actually quite straightforward. If someone loves you and trusts you they're going to buy from you. And that is exactly the same way as it was done with Mary Kay, Amway and all those other network marketing businesses that have passed the test of time. The Mary Kay representative driving around in her pink Cadillac is proud of her achievements, and you can absolutely sure she didn't get that Cadillac by selling her buddies and family 1 or 2 bags of eye shadow!

So how can this old school concept of attraction marketing translate onto the Internet?

The concept behind attraction marketing is to help folks. Folks are on the Internet searching for information. They are looking for this information because they want something or have a difficulty. The Internet has made an extraordinarily educated purchasing public, they'll research everything before they purchase anything by going on social media sites, asking questions in forums, reading articles and finding acceptable websites.

This is absolutely the way your business should be. You have to be where those future customers are. It doesn't mean going on Twitter and posting "buy my product" each and every 10 minutes. You have to gain people's trust by establishing that you're an expert, and you actually do want to help the individual unscramble their problem. That's online attraction marketing.

If you are new to the entire Internet network marketing business idea, the great thing about the Internet is there's dozens of places you can advertise, and after you get your first few sales you need to reinvest your revenues into your business by coughing up for advertising, maybe on social media sites such as Facebook but do not rush off and do it now. Get a system in place first and follow it. All successful Internet network marketing experts have followed a definite system.
